Recruit
Not yet a member of the 16th IR, recruits take the first step to becoming a member.
Technician Fifth Grade
Technician Fifth Grade is reserved for those who have Non-Commissioned Officer duties but are not apart of leadership.
Sergeant
Sergeants are typically entry level squad leaders, and this rank is offered to seasoned assistant squad leaders.
Technical Sergeant
A Technical Sergeant serves as the head Non-Commissioned Officer in a platoon, and as the platoon Sergeant.
Warrant Officer (Junior Grade)
Warrant Officers are specialist personnel with a narrow authority called a warrant rather than the broad authority of an officer's commission.
First Lieutenant
First Lieutenants typically serve as the company commander's executive officer. Could be awarded as advancement for a Second Lieutenant.
Lieutenant Colonel
Lieutenant Colonels typically serve as battalion commanders when there are multiple companies.
Private
After graduating Basic Combat Training, recruits are assigned the rank of Private.
Corporal
Corporals are the lowest rank of the Non-Commissioned Officers and typically served as assistant squad leaders.
Technician Third Grade
Technician Third Grade is reserved for those who have Non-Commissioned Officer duties but are not apart of leadership.
First Sergeant
First Sergeants serve as the head Non-Commissioned Officer in a company. First Sergeants are highly skilled and valued for their ability.
Chief Warrant Officer
Warrant Officers are specialist personnel with a narrow authority called a warrant rather than the broad authority of an officer's commission.
Captain
Captain's are top officer of a company and serve as company commander. Could be awarded as advancement for a First Lieutenant
Regimental Level
Ranks continue but are used at Regimental Level. Regimental level is used when there are multiple Battalions.
Private First Class
A Private First Class has distinguished themselves by their ability to work well inside their squad.
Technician Fourth Grade
Technician Fourth Grade is reserved for those who have Non-Commissioned Officer duties but are not apart of leadership.
Staff Sergeant
Staff Sergeants typically are responsible for leading a squad and achieve this rank when they have proven themselves as advanced in compentency.
Master Sergeant
Master Sergeants typically serve at a Battalion Level as the senior Non-Commissioned Officer. Also could be awarded as an advancement for a First Sergeant.
Second Lieutenant
Second Lieutenants are the lowest rank of the officers and serve as platoon leaders.
Major
Majors typically serve as executive officers at the battalion level when there is more than one company. Could be awarded as advancement for a Captain.
